Anodised finishes hold up marginally better under constant direct sun and tend to suit a more minimal, industrial look than a painted frame.

Anthracite grey and matte black have overtaken white as the most requested finish on villa projects across Dubai and Abu Dhabi over the last couple of years, generally specified alongside slimmer sightline profiles.

Even a well-specified system needs some seasonal attention in this environment. Dust settles into track channels faster here than in most markets these profiles were originally engineered for, and coastal properties see hardware wear noticeably quicker than inland sites because of the added salt content in the air.

A short routine two or three times a year, checking seals before peak summer heat and lubricating hinges and tracks, keeps most issues from turning into a service call.
